Dr. Xiaobai Li (IEEE Senior member, ELLIS member) is a ZJU 100 professor with the School of Cyber Science and Technology, Zhejiang University, China.
She is also an Adjunct Professor at the Center for Machine Vision and Signal Analysis (CMVS), University of Oulu, Finland. She received her Ph.D. from CMVS in 2017,
and achieved the postdoc position from Academy of Finland in 2019. She worked as a tenure track assistant professor at CMVS from 2020 to 2023, and joint ZJU at Nov. 2023.
Her research focuses on analyzing videos to understand human emotions and psychological status. Research regions include micro-expression analysis, micro-gesture analysis,
remote physiological signals measurement, and related applications in healthcare, affective computing, biometrics and AI security.
Dr. Xiaobai Li has 70+ peer reviewed publications (G-scholar H-index 40, citation 8900+) in leading journals and conferences, such as IEEE TPAMI, TAC, IJCV, ICCV, CVPR, etc.
She was among the list of ‘World’s Top 2% Scientists’ for years 2022 to 2024 announced by Stanford and Elsevier. Her research on micro-expression analysis has been reported
by MIT Technology Review, Daily Mail UK,
and other media, and her research on remote physiological signal measurement has been reported twice by Finnish media Kaleva. Dr. Xiaobai Li is the member of
IEEE Machine Learning for Signal Processing committee.
She serves as an associate editor for journals of IEEE TCSVT (2021-2024), IEEE TMM, CVIU, and IVC. She chairs multiple conferences including ICASSP
(area chair), ICIPMC (program chair), and ACII conference (late breaking results Chair).
Dr. Xiaobai Li also chaired multiple workshops and challenges, including the Remote Physiological Signal Sensing (RePSS) workshop challenge series in conjunction with IJCAI, the
facial micro-expressions grand challenge (MEGC) series and the micro action challenge (MAC) series in conjunction with ACM MM.
